Ingredients
  

  • - 3 cups walnut halves
  • - ⅓ cup brown sugar packed
  • - ½ teaspoon salt
  • - 1 large egg white
  • - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk the egg white until frothy (about 30 seconds).
  • Stir vanilla extract and salt into the frothy egg white.
  • Add packed brown sugar and mix until completely incorporated.
  • Add walnut halves and toss thoroughly until each piece is completely coated.
  • Spread coated walnuts on prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, stirring once halfway through, until golden brown.
  • Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then separate any stuck nuts with a fork. Cool completely before storing.

Notes

- Don't increase oven temperature - the lower heat ensures even cooking without burning
- Use fresh walnut halves for best results
- Store in airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week
- Can be frozen for up to 3 months
- Recipe doubles easily - use two baking sheets for single layer spreading
